Introduction
- The concept of social innovation is subject to various understandings and interpretations. Social entrepreneurship involves the creation of novel products, services, or initiatives aimed at addressing societal or environmental challenges. Social innovation, on the other hand, is often defined as innovation that instigates a "transformation in social relationships, encompassing novel methods of operating, organizing, understanding, and contextualizing"
- There's a growing interest among students to become social entrepreneurs and initiate their ventures rather than pursuing careers within established institutions. It's the younger generations, brimming with fresh ideas, that are pushing the world into uncharted territories
- As a result, young student entrepreneurs are inclined to establish new businesses and have introduced innovative, globally relevant business models with lasting, positive impacts. Students from all partner universities are encouraged to apply for participation in this course until the maximum capacity of participants is reached, following a "first come, first served" principle
Course Purpose - Why?
The Student WinterNship Week aims to foster a global entrepreneurial and social innovation mindset through workshops. It explores innovative management concepts with economic, social, and environmental impacts, emphasizing the idea of "Doing business by doing good." Participants engage in active learning, discussing questions like why business should be approached differently and how to integrate social innovation into entrepreneurship. The program focuses on teamwork, design thinking, and sustainable business practices. It also covers entrepreneurship fundamentals, market analysis, and starting new ventures. Attending this workshop helps participants understand venture creation and gain international exposure by connecting with students from various backgrounds
