HEM Business School participated in the annual conference of the European Foundation for the Development of Management Education - Middle East and Africa or EFMD-MEA, held in Johannesburg, South Africa.
Leading academics from esteemed business schools around Africa and the Middle East presented various views and opinions about management education during the three-day conference which ran from 8 to 10 November 2017. The theme of this year's conference was, 'Developing Opportunities and Talent for Growth'.
Panel discussions focused on topics such as the future of management education in Africa; leadership and diversity; job creation for youth; business schools responding to disruption and dynamic capabilities within business schools among other topics.
As a member of the EFMD Steering Committee, Dr. Ali Elquammah, Professor and Co-Director of Academic Affairs and International Relations at HEM Group, spoke in the plenary session about "What is Disrupting Business Schools?", Alongside Deans and Directors of renowned universities and business schools.
Furthermore, Dr. Elquammah also took part in a Brainstorming workshop where participants were invited to express the role of Business Schools as agents of change.
This annual event aims to strengthen learning, research, network, debate and innovation in a way that will bolster the business schools’ capacity and bring about change.
